Horsedogs – About sitting horses

Horses sometimes sit like dogs. It happens when they return from a lying position to a standing position. Usually it lasts only a few seconds because their anatomy is not made for long sitting. But sometimes they keep on sitting and enjoy themselves.

My name is Alexa and I am an artist living in Leipzig, Germany. Since 2 years I am obsessed with collecting images of sitting horses, and this became project "Horsedogs".

To me, a sitting horse looks weird and awkward, but also strangely mesmerizing, calm and majestic. The horse does not care what others think of it. The horse is doing its thing!
